Dates: Wednesday April 15th and Wednesday July 15th 2020. The event scheduled for April 15th has regrettably been cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.. UPDATE: the event scheduled for July 15th has also now been cancelled, following advice of UK Athletics.
Venue: The Wick Country Park. The Registration desk will be located in the Pavilion
Time: The Race starts at 7.30 p.m. Registration open from about 7.00
Cost: £3.00 [UKA Affiliated runners = £1.00] (17 and under free). ENTRIES ON THE DAY ONLY
These events are open to all, including children and young adults, but children should be accompanied - even if as a spectator - by a responsible adult. In the past dogs on leads with their handlers have joined in! The events are arranged in conjunction with the Pitsea Running Club, and they attract many runners from local Running Clubs, though many competitors are not members of any Running Club. The event is held under UK Athletics rules. The course takes competitors around almost all of the main paths in the Park, enabling them to soak up the peace and ambience, even those who finish some way down the ranking list!
The winner, Crispen Bloomfield, very narrowly failed to break his own course record, which therefore still stands at 9 minutes 41 seconds!
